Activities will incorporate standards in all domains including physical, social, emotional, and cognitive develop appropriate for the age level of the child. Activities will be hands-on so that children have the opportunity to explore in a safe and secure environment. Here at Little Hands we strive to provide children with an enriched and developmentally appropriate curriculum. Part of providing quality curriculum is also assessing children. It is important for teachers to understand where children are at developmentally so that they can meet children and their needs. Little Hands strives to use authentic assessment. This means using forms of assessment such as portfolios, observations, and anecdotal notes that provide a whole-child picture, rather than standardized assessment. We will also be doing on-going assessments with daily letters home regarding each child.
