Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
Reading out loud can be incredibly beneficial. Expressions, props, and even costumes can add to the reading experience. I was able to dress up as Snow White and read to a group of first graders. The experience was so much fun! When I finished reading, I invited the children to complete an activity with me.
Snow White ActivityFor the activity I discuss in the video you will need:
First have a class discussion about fables, and re-telling stories. Since we do not know the original author of Snow White, the story has been told time and time again. Invite children to talk about versions of Snow White they've seen, heard, or read. When the discussion is finished, breaking everyone up into groups and have each group retell Snow White in a new way. Have the children illustrate their books and put them all together in the class library. Be creative, and have fun! (It may be helpful to make a book as an entire class depending on the age of students!) |
Below is an audio recording of myself reading Curious George Goes Camping. (Turn down your sound some! Sorry!)
